Halloween QR Codes: Spooky Ideas You Can Change After You Print

A Halloween QR code is a small square on a flyer, ticket or candy bag that opens a link on any phone. It sends guests to your RSVP form, your haunted house tickets or your spooky menu, with nothing to type.

With ERAGO you make one in the QR studio in about a minute. Pick a short custom slug, add Halloween colors, then download PNG or SVG. Because the slug stays the same, you can change where your printed QR points later, for free.

How to make a Halloween QR code in 4 steps

  1. 1

    Paste your link

Open the QR studio and paste your RSVP form, menu, ticket page or album.

  2. 2

    Pick a custom slug

For example erago.site/spooky-party. Short and readable is better.

  3. 3

    Style it

Use a Spooky preset below, or put the Halloween color in the background or corners and keep the modules dark.

  4. 4

    Test, then print

Scan in low light. Print at least 3 cm wide for hand-held items and 6 cm or more for porch signs and posters.

Spooky QR presets

Five Halloween styles with dark modules on a light background, so they still scan. Pick one to open the QR studio with it applied.

Halloween QR code ideas

Party invitations and RSVP

Put a QR on the invite that opens your RSVP form. After the party, point the same code to the photo album, so guests who kept the invite find every photo.

Haunted house tickets and queue signs

Queue signs open ticket sales and the waiver form. Inside, a code at each room plays a short story clip. Swap a clip on night two by changing the destination.

Trick-or-treat candy bags and porch signs

A small QR on candy bags opens your allergy-friendly candy list. On the porch sign, link a neighborhood map. Print porch codes at least 6 cm wide.

Costume tags and contests

A "Scan my costume" tag opens how you made it. For contests, each entry card opens the voting form, then the winners page once voting closes.

Halloween café or restaurant menu

One QR per table for the seasonal menu. On Nov 1, change the destination to the regular menu. No reprints, and next October you switch it back.

Scavenger hunts and shop window promos

Hide numbered codes that each open the next clue. In a shop window, a QR can open this week's Halloween offer, then next week's.

Change where your printed QR points after Halloween

Your QR holds a short link, like erago.site/spooky-party. Keep the slug and change only the destination, and every code you've already printed opens the new page. It's included on the Free plan.

One invite, three jobs

  • Before the party: the invite opens your RSVP form.
  • After the party: the same code opens the photo album.
  • Next October: it opens next year's invite.

Tips so your spooky QR still scans

  • Dark on light. Orange on black looks great but often fails. Keep orange for the background or corners.
  • Keep the quiet zone. Leave a clear border around the code. Don't let artwork touch it.
  • Small logo. Keep a logo under about 25% of the code.
  • Matte print. Glossy and laminated signs reflect light. Matte scans more easily.
  • Test where it lives. Scan under porch lights or in a dim room before printing the full batch.
